Here and Away

Here and Away is a solo exhibition of works-on-paper created during a series of international trips I took from 2015 to 2018. The aesthetics of the show are inspired by the decorative saint festivals of Portugal, where I kept art studios, off and on, between 2015 and 2016 in the northern city of Porto. The works are intimate collaged drawings and paintings, assembled mostly on-the-go, and combine observational drawings of architecture and urban life with playful abstraction. Recorded found sound clips from trips in Europe and South America will provide emotional context for the works, and the show will be displayed as an installation in a private loft gallery in Tribeca.

The show was on view, by appointment, May 19th through May 22nd, 2018, with an opening reception on Saturday May 19th from 11am - 2pm.
